 Provides good light, eventually. Very slow to warm up.Dec 07, 2011

I was not keen on buying bulbs online but could not find any compact fluorescent G40 globes in my local lighting specialty stores. Now I know why they don't carry them. I installed four of these in a bedroom ceiling fixture. After they've been on for a few minutes, they provide good light, but they are very dim when first turned on. In the bedroom, it's not so bad. If I had put these in a vanity (the most common application for globes) or some other fixture where bright instant-on light is needed, I would have been very disappointed.

Purchased three of these bulbs, rated at 8000 hours life. In my application, they are on no more than 4 hours per day. One lasted less than one year and was replaced under warranty. Now a second has failed at about a year and a half and no more than 2000 hours. Seller says I must have bad luck. In my world 2 out of 3 is not bad luck, but more likely bad product.
