Works great at a good priceAug 20, 2010

"mtucker"
I saw some of the floating LED color changing devices at the pool shop and wondered if I could replace the stock 912 bulb in our spa with something similar. This "bulb" was one of the cheaper options and it looked to do want I wanted. It was very easy to install (slides in just like a replacement bulb). It fits just inside the plastic light housing.
It is reasonably bright and having the different options (many solid colors and some color changing options) makes it work for whatever mood you are in. You change colors/modes by turning the light off and then back on within five seconds. I don't have a dedicated light switch in my spa, but I can cycle the light off by stepping through the different jet/light combination modes of my jacuzzi to turn the LED bulb off/on in five seconds. The last mode used is remembered.
The lens on our Jacuzzi is fairly clear so you can see the individual LEDs clearly especially when more than one color of LED is on. Once the light travels through the water a bit, the light mixes together fairly well to make whatever color. I may try a putting a material inside the spa light lens to help diffuse the light more quickly, but the bulb is good as is and is a great deal.
