The light bulb works OK but bulb is not held in the fixture in a secure manner. Bulb plugs in instead of being srcewed in and our previous bulb fell out and was destroyed when it hit the floor.

excellent price on this replacement bulb, especially since the mfg. charges @ twice this. Frustrating that the mfg. has a unique base to this bulb and one is forced to use only their product.

This works wonderfully. Very bright, smooth illumination. But, be warned! It will fall out of the socket at the slightest bump! I've replaced ours several times. You'll need to find a way to secure it to the socket somehow or it will get busted.

I can not tell from the description if this replacement fits my lamp. I have a 508 illumination and 20 watt specified on the lamp. Joanns sells the lamp and not the replacement. If I had known this I would never had bought the lamp. As a matter of fact, I talked my daughter into buying one too. I am REAly gritting my teeth on the cost from the company. The cost and shipping is astronomical. The price here is so much more reasonable but I'm not sure it is the right replacement bulb. And to top it off the Ottlite people do not answer their phones and my electrician husband thinks the balast is bad. There wasnt a warranty card in the box either..... OY!! Do not buy this lamp or any of their lamps from Joanns or any store if you dont see a replacement bulb available on the shelf! This is another "Buyer Beware...."

These Ott people must be nuts. Harsh white light good for growing whatever or doing dental surgery. Ott makes awesome desk lights, bit yeesh, the room lighting is from Ice Station Zebra! And of course, the fixture has an Ott two prong connector, so you are forever stuck to the Ott -o-man empire - or just rewire the fixture and tell Ott to go to heck!
