I work from home, and after winter was underway I was getting the winter blues again. Tired all day long and a slow brain that just wouldn't wake up. I ordered the 20-watt bulb since I figured that the additional phosphors would actually end up making the room darker than it already was.
When I installed the bulbs, my first thought was that the room was very dark. Then I realized that it wasn't really dark, but that the room was illuminated in an entirely different color of light. I do feel quite a difference just from spending 20 minutes in the light. It's nothing like spring or summer, but I'm not in my winter coma.
Due to buying the 20 watt bulbs, they ended up being too large for the cover to go back onto the fixture. It didn't take much thought to decide to leave the cover off all winter. The difference was worth the inconvenience.
