Great product, just what I needed.Sep 05, 2008

I purchased this Mogul to Medium socket converter to allow me to fit a modern CFL into the socket of an older (1940's) Mogul base lamp. The energy I will save using the CFL over the Mogul base lamp will be significant. In addition I will not have to replace costly, inefficient Mogul based bulbs. I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality, fit and finish of this converter. It looks to be solid and well made. It easily fit into my lamp and is working like a charm. Highly recommended.

Perfect for the purposeMar 22, 2008

If you run into the perfect antique lamp that utilized the old-time and significantly larger Mogul bulb, which is not easy to find in hardware stores (or any other retail establishment for that matter), this converter does the trick with the greatest of ease. Just screw in a regular lightbulb into the adapter and then screw the adapter into the lamp's socket, and voila! ...any easy-attainable "regular" lightbulb (be it the incandescent or compact fluorescent type of bulb) will now screw into the antique lamp socket.

Doesn't work for 3-way bulbsOct 11, 2010
By pmirkovich Seller was fine and product was delivered sooner than expected. However, this reducer does not work with 3-way bulbs so make sure to have a regular bulb on hand with your max expected wattage!

Super saver on money and energyJun 24, 2010
By E. McComb I was originally searching for CFL mogul based light bulb. One of the sellers mentioned that the CFL base would not fit in a mogul socket surrounded by a glass globe; my mogul lamp has a glass globe. A reviewer who bought the only mogul CFL bulb I was able to find on the internet complained that it did not fit in his mogul lamp. Then I found this converter which fits easily into the mogul socket and has allowed me to put a regular CFL bulb into the lamp. The price was also reasonable. Regular based CFL bulbs are less expensive than a mogul based CFL bulb and not much more than a regular mogul bulb. I couldn't be happier.

By C. Anderson fantastic product...thought we'd have to throw away one of our favorite lamps because we couldn't find the bulbs anymore. Problem solved!
