Good light quality; takes have a second to come on.Aug 01, 2007

The bulb produces good quality light; fairly equal to an incandescent bulb), but it takes half a second to come on. You get used to the delay after a little while, but for the first several days, I found myself turning the light off and back on, thinking I hadn't somehow hit the switch. This is one of very few CFLs that can be used in a closed fixture. Overall, I was very happy with the purchase and will be ordering more.

odd color lightJan 08, 2009
By D. P. Huff Fits well in most fixtures, doesn't look strange like the bare "spiral tube" CFLs, and is plenty bright (box says 60W equivalent, and that's reasonable). But the light it gives off has a pronounced yellowish tint that isn't attractive. Makes the room look a bit jaundiced.
Other warm light CFLs I've seen give off a much more attractive light, something a bit more towards a pinkish spectrum. I just wish those were avail in a 60W equivalent of this size.
Good, warm (for a CFL) light that lasts much longer than regular ceiling fan bulbsMar 24, 2012

I switched over to nothing but CFLs in my home a few years ago. One tricky part of that is that every major room in my house gets its lighting through a ceiling fan, so I had to get vibration-tolerant bulbs that could handle when the fans were in use. I found these bulbs at a lighting fair held at my office, and they've worked out great. They've held up like champs, and unlike the earlier-generation CFLs I bought, these give off a much more neutral to warm light. My whole house is equipped with these, and I've bought a box of extra bulbs to make sure I'm good with replacements when the day comes.
I think only an LED bulb gets better color temperature than these CFLs, but of course those are a lot more expensive.
