5Simple Installation, Don't forget the batteriesFeb 08, 2008
By R. Boissonneault
This heat detector was required by our local fire inspector to be installed over our cars in the garage. Installation was as simple as any standard wired detector, and it worked perfectly well with the rest of our Kidde detectors. Just don't forget to unwrap and install the batteries before you put all of your ladders away :)

5Installed easy, hope I never have to use it!Apr 09, 2012

Installed this in my garage after my neighbor's house burned from a garage fire. Installed easily to the gang of smoke detectors in the house. I did test it out with a heat gun and it did activate the entire house. Hopefully I'll never have to actually use it!

5Easy to install, no false alarms yet.Jun 07, 2010
By Casey G. Hancock "Listener"
Replacing an existing Kidde smoke detector with this was quite simple. It's solved my false alarm problem in the kitchen, but I've never tested it with a real fire, thankfully, so I don't know if it fares as well with false negatives.

5Excellent product!Jul 04, 2011
By PowerGamer "Power Gamer"
Kidde hit a home run with this one. I bought my house nine years ago, and it came with six smoke detector heads all tied together on a common alarm circuit. Once in a while one of the old detectors would fire in the middle of the night for just a few seconds, but there was no fire! I decided on the last 2:00 AM false alarm to retire the old detectors. These Kidde detectors have CO2 detection in addition to the standard smoke detectoion. The installation was a breeze with the included pigtail - it took literally two minutes per detector in pull the old one and install the new one ( with the power off, of course). The voice alarm notifies you which condition is in alarm. I test these monthly, and am always impressed at the voice clarity and volume - no sleeping through this alarm system! The best part is, I have had no false alarms since replacing these 18 months ago - this is a great product!
