Great Contrast LightingAug 07, 2011
By James Talley As I learn more about the Kevin rating on compact fluorescent lighting, I'm better understanding what type of light to expect. These bulbs which produce the 4100K, produce more of a cool, slightly bluish light, which is great for higher contrast applications, in other words, reading books, back light for computer monitor etc. I found out that the 2700K which is a 'warmer' light (similar to the incandescent bulbs)is more soothing for everyday lighting needs. So now I know which 'rating' (2700K or 4100K) of bulb to buy depending on the application it is for. So I'm hoping this helps others to choose the right bulb for the right application, when they are looking and trying to better understand the 'new' compact florescent light kevin rating.

The work but the pins seem too looseDec 05, 2012

I have 6 ceiling lights with this bulb in and when they are installed they are loose in the socket, any slight movement and they fall out. The only thing keeping them in place is the cover holds them . They don't last that long either I have to replace them after a few years of use, less than the 5 to 10,000 hrs rated.

RIP after brief periodOct 25, 2012
By Milwaukee Reid I bought three of the GE ECO quad tubes about 1 1/2 years ago to replace tubes from another manufacturer that burned out after about 6 years. All of the GE bulbs have gone dead. Laundry room is dark. I will not buy more of these pricey, short-life GE bulbs

Double Tube 5 Pin light bulbNov 09, 2011
By Andrew M. Sonnet Very good CLEAR light bulbs. These are not fully soft white bulbs, no frosting, so they offer a much clearer lighting.

Good wattage for local lightingMar 07, 2011

The double-tube bulb is perfect for local ambient lighting especially if your computer is located near a wall. I generally point the lamp at the wall to light up the surrounding--for some contrast balance. For reading or writing, this lamp may be a big weak and you'd have to pull it very close to your reading surface.
The above comment applies to all 27w double-tube compact fluorescent lamps, not necessarily the ones made by GE.
