Very useful product!Mar 15, 2010
By M. Schiegg My girlfriend recently inherited a chandelier and lamp from Germany which uses the European "candle" bulbs. These have a 14mm base (E14) whereas the American "candelabra" bulbs have a 12mm base (E12). After doing a little research, I came across these reducers. It was either that or buy specialty bulbs which are expensive and not readily available in stores. The reducers worked perfectly! We had our chandelier and lamp up and running in no time.
I also wanted to provide some measurements of the reducers in case there is any doubt whether these will fit your particular lamp socket. I noticed that one of the other reviewers said that his reducer was 1/8" too short. As I mentioned above, the diameter of the base is 14mm (about 9/16"). The length of the base (including the little "tip" at the bottom) is 23mm (about 7/8".) If you exclude the tip, the base length is 17mm (about 11/16".)

Service and product were excellent. I had purchased a European lamp which required a European bulb. This allows me to use USA bulbs.

Solved the problemJan 12, 2008
By T. Fisher I bought a lamp in Paris and the original bulb burned out. Once I figured out the electrical part of the scenario, the reducer solved the bulb size problem.

Great productApr 06, 2011
By Sus987 This product solved my dilemma, I can now use the candelabra with regular American bulbs. I recommend everyone that has a candelabra with E14 bulbs to just buy this piece and get regular E12 bulbs. Fits perfect, can't be better.

By fredburd Have an Italian made lamp that I love and now I don't have to worry about buying the specialty bulbs anymore. The reducer makes ANY candelebra bulb work and I couldn't be happier! GREAT product!
