4Great light but HUGEMar 19, 2010
By HenryH "henry3482"
If you need them, you need them badly. This light, with a "mogul" (a.k.a. E39) base, is a great light. It is amazingly bright. It is also very large. If you have the right fixture for it, it will put out all the light you could hope for but you need to measure before you buy. It was bigger than I expected. That's not Eiko's fault, of course, it's as big as it is advertised. Still it's a great light bulb.

5Just listing size for this itemMay 29, 2011
By Michelle Eason "autoharp"
I was interested in purchasing this bulb. Because other reviews mentioned it was very large, but didn't note the size, I wanted to clarify. The Eiko Web site states this bulb is 11.9 inches tall. Won't work for my lamp, but now you know the size without going to the vendor Web site. You are welcome.

5WOW it's bright!Oct 21, 2010

Great bulb, but you had better have some massive fixtures like the high bay lights you see in warehouses, gyms, and big box stores. I have a 1600 square foot garage and eight 120-volt high bay fixtures with mogul bases. I love this bulb, but I've had it for one day so I don't know anything about longevity or how it does in the winter!

4Great solution, poor QC?Jan 04, 2012

I bought two of these to replace some of the 300w incandescents in my workshop. With 5 fixtures, that's 1500 watts just to turn the lights on! $$$!

One worked, the other was DOA with no visible damage. The one that did work is great, it's brighter, whiter, starts instantly even in the cold, and uses 1/3rd of the power. Win-win, when it works.

Received product promptly. I'm swapping out 400 watt mercury bulbs for 105 watt fluorescent bulbs. Hopefully I'll save some money.
