 Perfect bulb for those open bottom ceiling lampsApr 17, 2012

A week ago the wife picked up one of those rustic looking lamps without a light filter on the bottom to keep the bulb from blinding you. Luckily I saw these chrome dipped bulbs before at a lamp store. The lamp is half dipped in chrome/silver so that no light comes through the bottom half, only the top - when you have this in a ceiling lamp with no light filter, it keeps the light from blinding you. No stores in my immediate surrounding area sold them (none at Home Depot, Osh, Lowe's etc), so had to turn to amazon. Quick shipping, bulbs came very neatly packaged. Would buy again. Thanks!

I bought this bulb for arc lamp that I have.
This bulb works well for arc lamp to cut glares BUT this bulb only lasted less than a month for me.
It seems I am not the only one who's having this problem with these bulbs.
What a shame..
