These light bulbs have made such a difference. They are warm, give off great light and make plants happy in the cold winters of the Northern Midwest. I hope these are not among the bulbs scheduled for illegality in the near future. They will make such a difference in latitudes where the sun only shines 8 hours a day at midwinter. Better moods, less money spent on heat, happy green house plants, and warm old cats. If you are looking for better lighting for any of these reasons, these bulbs are for you.

I purchased this natural-light lightbulb to bring the sunlight indoors and it does just that. I use it to light my room to aid with my studies (I found I'm not straining as hard to read my materials now, so mission accomplished). There is one downside, though. It's heat output. In the winter I get pretty chilly in my room while studying or working on my computer. I have the bulb in my desk lamp and it puts off enough heat to keep me warm without a space heater (I can't even touch the lamp unit once it's been on for two minutes or more). It's ok in the winter, but I'm gonna have to change the bulb out when summer rolls around again or I'll melt.

This is just what I expected, no more and no less. It's a relatively inefficient technology, but works well for my "sunrise simulator." I can't give it a 5, however, due to the relatively high price and short lifetime. I suppose this will only get worse as the incandescent bulb goes the way of the typewriter...

excellent light bulb. i am a tax accountant and i spend long hours at my desk doing close up work and i need the best natural lighting. this bulb is a winner and i do not get eye strain at the end of the day, which is imperative to me when i am working 7 day weeks. i encourage all people who read a lot or do accounting and legal work to buy this bulb
