I bought this bulb for a clear glass hanging pendant purchased from PB. The bulb looks sooo cute and makes the fixture look absolutely perfect. The light it puts out is somewhat dim and on the gold side, which I love for that retro look. Plus, it doesn't blind us in the clear glass fixture. I cannot comment on how long the bulb lasts...mine is going strong but it has only been two weeks. If you're going for that retro look seen in the PB catalog, get this bulb. It's the perfect little detail to make your fixture stand out. I'm on here ordering more.

The Amazon photo doesn't really do this bulb justice. I bought one to use as a vintage style lightbulb in a music video and couldn't be more pleased with the results.
I was concerned about shipping such a fragile item, but it is quite nicely packaged by the manufacturer. I'll probably be buying quite a few more Bulbrite brand bulbs.

I installed this bulb in an Ikea fixture and it makes the whole thing look like a genuine antique. The filament is amazing and gives off a great glow.

The other reviews are completely accurate. This is a beautifully crafted bulb. Is it expensive? Yes. Does it produce less lumens than other 40W bulbs? Yes. Do I care? No.
The packaging is among the best I've seen for a bulb. The bulb itself is a work of art compared to anything else I have used, even when turned off. The fitment is superb and by this I mean when screwed into the socket, the crescendo of the funnel shape leaves almost a seamless teardrop shape. The filaments on the interior of the bulb are beautifully constructed and I love how the distal tip of the bulb comes to a tip, almost like a newly molded candle.
This bulb deserves a dimmer and a fixture that allows it to show off. The light emitted is almost intoxicating. It looks incredibly authentic and old fashioned. The light isn't quite as bright as other 40w bulbs, but it is fine to help keep a room or space lit enough to read a book. As others mentioned, the pictures do not do it justice. Just know that if you have seen these in person (mostly in restaurants or high-end decor retailers), this one is just as good or better. You will not be disappointed.

I was looking for lighting for my bedroom. I had an old rod lamp and wanted to complete the look with just the right bulb. This 40-watt fit the bill perfectly. It gives off a very usable soft white-orange light. It lights my room enough so that I can read @ night. This bulb is a great addition to complete the retro look. The color of the light it gives off is very relaxing. In an age of CFL lights, this bulb is not at all harsh or intrusive. You will enjoy the light from this "classic" bulb.
