Poor light sensitivityJan 04, 2012
By Taylor This light control is insensitive to all but *very* bright light such as direct sunlight to cause it to turn off a lamp plugged into it. We purchased two of these light controls and tried using them both in multiple locations and in every wall outlet location we tried they didn't get enough light to turn off the lamp. The only way we could get these light controls to work at all was to plug an extension cord into the wall and plug the light control into the extension cord and place it on the window sill facing outside, and even then it only turned the light off during the brightest part of the day. In the end we threw these out and purchased two Ace Light Controls ACE PLUG-IN LAMP PHOTOCELL 300 watts maximumwhich work great.
It just makes whatever is plugged in blink on and offNov 03, 2011
By Marisa I plugged the AmerTac CL12BC-2 200-Watt Indoor Programmable Light Control into a wall outlet that has always worked and then plugged a night lite into it. The nite lite (which normally works fine by itself) just blinks on and off while plugged into the AmerTac CL12BC-2 200-Watt Indoor Programmable Light Control. I tried plugging the AmerTac CL12BC-2 200-Watt Indoor Programmable Light Control into another outlet and also tried plugging in a different light into it, but still had the same outcome. Would not recommend product.

Didn't work for meSep 07, 2011
By dawg Maybe mine was a lemon, but it didn't work at all for me. I tried to plug a night light into it, and it didn't do anything at all. I suspect it might just be a bad unit, but buyer-beware.

So far so good....Mar 09, 2010
By Explorer The trick is finding an outlet that gets good sun light, because if not, you've got a light show. Light will continually click off and on, so.....
Anyway, since I have not had it that long, I am cautiously giving it a 4 out of 5 rating until I work through all possible glitches.
So yeah, I recommend this indoor light sensor.
