Great for control room lightingAug 29, 2012
By Laura F. Purchased a few of these to be used as running lights for a lighting/audio control room. They provide enough light to see pages in a script as well as the consoles themselves.
Great color!Nov 27, 2010
By Sunkist These bulbs accomplish just what I needed them to do. I used them for my blue and green theme baby shower; where we had blue and green lights throughout our home with other decorations. The ambiance was beautiful! Many compliments!

Meh.Aug 16, 2012

The other day I was fondly remembering the atmospheric effect of the colored bulbs I used in my room in college. You can completely transform the mood and appearance of a room with colored lighting,, so I decided I'd resurrect that old habit and buy a few of these novelty bulbs for my apartment. The Transparent Blue was one of the models I chose. However, I'm not overly impressed with it. Unlike the Red version of this product, which casts a powrful ruby-colored glow, this one burns with a feeble, watery light which is insufficient to "change" the appearance even a modestly sized room which has no other lights burning. Honestly, the amount of light produced by it is not much more than that which is caused by activating a cell phone. Nor is the light at 25 watts sufficient to read by, so it kind of fails both as an mood-creator and as a bulb in itself. Undoubtedly the color is kind of pretty, and I suppose with two or three of these you could create a nice, if very pale, blue light. Certainly the cheap price is a plus. But as a standalone, I can't give it more than a C.
