This light is a nice product the replacement bulbs are little spenddy, but the stores that were carrying the lamps and bulbs are discontinuing it. Leaving us with an expensive paper weight. Thank you for continuing to carry the bulbs and making them reasonable to buy. It has taken the sting out of a bad purchase (on the lamp).

Looked at 3-4 other hardware stores including the big ones and could not find a combatible light for this fixture. Found it at Amazon cheaper than the other light bulb specialty sites. Exact replacement.

I obtained it through Amazon after fruitless search of many lamp and home improvements stores.

The replacement tube gets five stars but, hey, it's a light bulb and it works in my overpriced and noisy Ottlite lamp. It was received well packaged and within the expected time frame. Perhaps the Ottlite is saving my vision but my gut tells me that I wouldn't be able to discern any difference between the Ottlite and a plain old low wattage fluorescent desk lamp. Even if there was a noticeable difference, the fact that I can't find a replacement Ottlite bulb at any brick and mortar store in a suburb of Washington, DC and am compelled to wait a week to replace a burnt out light bulb negates any benefit the light might provide. I would not but an Ottlite lamp again but thank you Amazon for making the replacement lamp available so I don't have to throw my $75 investment in the trash for the sake of a burnt-out light bulb.

I purchased an Ott desk lamp now several years ago at Costco on a whim. It was being clearanced out, and I had always been curious about the quality of the Ott lamps which I had seen advertised at crafting stores. Last month I noticed that the light would flicker out of control when I turned it on. I don't use the lamp all that much anymore since buying a laptop almost four years ago. But when I go in my office and try to do anything, I usually have to turn on this desk lamp because the lighting in my ceiling fan doesn't give off enough light.
I found this replacement bulb on Amazon, I never even considered trying anywhere else because the replacement bulb was a reasonable price, and I know that the crafting stores charge a fortune for these lamps and replacement bulbs. It was very easy to remove the original lamp and replace. I turned the lamp on, and held my breath for a second, and voila, the light was on, and not flickering. Perfect!
